Ok, so Emili and I are
all geared up and ready to go , but really what can we offer?
Obviously we’ll need to call in some specialists here,
someone who’ll know how to make us look good and who
understands what we can (maybe not) do. So who's out there
who’s as serious about this as us? Who would understand
how Bruce pilled up the bodies or the endless repeats of
Texas Ranger?
We can ring Guy and Roni
(Club Guy and Roni) they’re cool, and then there’s
that greek outfit, Linda Kapetanea and Jozef Frucek (Rootless
Root), they’ll join us on this crusade. And just for
the moment we’ll leave ourselves one wildcard, a third
collaborator yet to be found on this adventure, it'll probably
have to be another art busting combo, right on! That’ll
complete this evening of daring do...
But what about these two
performers, Emilio Gutierrez and Thomas Noone, both surely
past their prime yet maybe not completely over the hill,
good for one last push and maybe still holding a surprise
or two. Sure they danced for other choreographers; doing
what they were asked to do or making it up when required...
and both of them are prepared to put their dubious achievements
in the choreographic field on hold for just this short time,
so maybe it might just work.
So Emili and Thomas, aka
Chuck and Bruce, come to this project ready for that last
push for glory, ready to fight as gritty mercenaries of
the dance world. Its not (just) that their wives told them
to get out and stop mopping about the house, its a struggle
for what is true and great in contemporary performance and
maybe of course the chance to work on that mid-drift....
