Lugares Extrañamente
Desastrosos
(Strangely Familiar
Disasters)
Mundane places, disastrous circumstance, strangely
familiar.
Three parallel stories, tragic, familiar, inevitable..
On stage three couples and a solitary musician, each pair dances
their relation, their emotions. Sharing a feeling of imminent
disaster they tell their story using a dynamic, explosive and
intensely emotive movement vocabulary. Composer-musician Jim
Pinchen accompanies them live on stage, weaving a soundtrack
from his many instruments and his own voice.
“I combined formal creation, structured improvisation
and in order to find an intimate and
highly expressive language. The aim of the choreography is to
draw attention to the
humanity and individuality of the performers.
Their relationships must be recognisable
through the dance and the intention is to make an poignant work
with a good dose of (black) humour.”

In “Lugares...” Noone creates
a work centred on those situations that inevitably draw
us
towards chaos, yet it is not a melancholic work, but a dynamic
and high octane dance
piece laced with his characteristic irony.
