Bound - Tort-The Chaos Qaurtet - Four - Mur - Crush-Crease - Fútil

Repertory: Tort/The Chaos Quartet

An evening formed by two choreographies. A presentation by two choreographers with distinct, contrasted styles, but unified by the dancers and a use of strong, visual, physical dance.

Tort

Beginning, progressing, twisting, breaking, failing. Skew. Beginning again....

Tort is pure abstract dance; an investigation of the use of stage space and the time line. and the organisation of both the group and the individual within them.

Tort is a search for the symbolism and power of suggestion of the body formed and deformed before the spectator.

The dance functions in parallel with the music by Diego Dall’Osto who arranges intense rhythmic breaks with a sparse, attenuated melodic motif. Two sharply contrasted soundscapes brutally juxtaposed, heightening their differences whilst searching for a common ground.

Dancers: Alba Barral, Anna Caceres, Horne Horneman and Thomas Noone

Choreography: Thomas Noone
Music: Diego Dall’Osto
Choreography assistant: Nuria Martinez.

The Chaos Quartet

The Chaos Quartet is inspired by the theory of chaos. The theory of chaos was developed from the understanding that all matters are bound to one another in a system of reactions. It focuses on hidden paths, on nuances, on the ‘sensitivity’ of things and the rules that lead from the unpredictable to the new. The theory of chaos also deals with creativity. Nature for example, generates new shapes and forms by ‘organizing out of chaos’. In a similar way, art is using chaos to form new and unpredictable images, revealing itself as a flow that comes to life through sudden changes, and strange sights.

The Chaos Quartet plays with destruction and creation of forms, ideas and matter. Passing through the different scenes, it deals with emotions like compassion and indifference, holding on or letting go.

SPECIAL COLLABORATORS FOR THIS PROJECT
Invited Choreographers: Guy Weisman y Roni Haver

Haver & Weizman create mysterious, seductive and dynamic dance performances that deal with contemporary topics. The dance vocabulary is innovative, raw and exiting. Their Dutch based group - Club Guy & Roni, has become a popular guest on international festivals.
Haver & Weizman’s artistic language, communicates through concrete and abstract images, creating a fresh, daring and surprising logic. In their work they generate a coherent world, existing on a line between destruction and creation, elegantly alternating between opposites.
With the ever-returning theme of self-liberation, their work is vibrating with tension and focuses on inspiring, confronting and touching the public.
