Elegant Vitality

The British dancer and choreographer Thomas Noone, resident in Barcelona since 1997, presents in L'Espai an remarkable new work: Triptych, a piece formed by three choreographies that show an interesting vocabulary, every time with greater personality and solidity. Elegance and vitality are combined in a gesture of great quality that is interpreted by Noone himself joined by to Eva Ballesteros, Philip Connaughton, Núria Martinez, and Inma Rubio. The show consists of three emotional states, three different forms of being. In the first, danced by the whole company, the reiterative music of Oriol Rossell is allied with abstract movement, sweeping turns fill the bare stage with fluidity, the dancers approach the ground, take force and return to fly, everything is daring. The disciplined bodies of the dancers form suggestive sculptures that vanish in a note.

The velocity of the first piece is followed by an intense duet interpreted by Noone and Núria Martinez. The bodies of the dancers become ductile and they wind together under the caresses of the music of Arvo Pärt. Noone is an artist with numerous choreographic prizes that a special gift has to create gorgeous pairs, as it demonstrates throughout all this spectacle.

The third part, accompanied by the music of Philip Glass and danced by all the Thomas Noone Dance, breathes modernity, the movement is urban and the relation between the dancers is marked by the imaginative game with the long coats they wear.
